Pressure Regulations
Pressure - Codes of Practice

 

 

 

 

 

Farncare Inspections, is able to carry out the required inspections to comply with the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) and supply the required inspection reports.

The following equipment is covered by the PSSR

  • 1. Steam Boilers of all types and sizes
  • 2. Steam receivers, e.g. garment presses and blowdown vessels.
  • 3. Steam ovens
  • 4. Autoclaves
  • 5. Vessels containing gasses, e.g. helium, nitrogen, LPG and oxygen
  • 6. Air vessels operating at or above 250 bar/litres
  • 7. Refrigeration plant over 25kW installed power
  • 8. Hot water heating boilers operating above 100C

It is a requirement of Regulation 8 of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations that each and every pressure system that is covered by these regulations have in place prior to using the system a Written Scheme of Examination. These can be supplied by Farncare.

Preserved traction engines are not covered by the PSSR, how ever it is recommended by both the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and the National Traction Engine Trust (NTET) that owners comply with the regulations.
