Heatreat 502

Heatreat 502 is a blended formulation of tannins, alkalis and polymers for preventing corrosion, scaling and organic fouling in hat water and chilled water systems.

Treatment for steam boilers Heatreat 502 is dosed so as to maintain the D.M. value (tannin index) and the ph of the boiler water within set limits.

Usually the D.M. value of 12 - 16 and a ph greater than 10

For D.M. value a simple test using reagents in tablet form is available.

For ph, indicator test papers are suitable.

The initial dose is normally 3litre/1 cubic metre

24 pints per 1000 gallons                      12 pints per 500 gallons

1 pint per 40 gallons                               10 fl. oz. per 20 gallons

5 fl. oz. per 10 gallons                            1 fl. oz. per 2 gallons

TOP UP DOSAGE need not be added every time the tank/boiler is filled, but preferably added during working periods. There is no advantage in using water treatment when the water is left open to the air for long periods.
